Jan Kocoń

Specialist in computational linguistics and machine learning. A graduate of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management (W8) at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST), Department of Computational Intelligence (K2).

Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Computational Intelligence (WUST/W8/K2). He is a member of the G4.19 Language Technology Group, which is a part of the CLARIN-PL Language Technology Centre. His main research area is natural language engineering and information extraction, specifically automatic recognition of temporal expressions and events in text documents for Polish language with the use of machine learning. In SENTIMENTI project he is responsible for the selection of lexical units from Polish WordNet, coordinating a group of linguists and the creation of solutions using machine learning for automatic recognition of emotions and valence in text.

Sentimenti project is the effect of cooperation between four professional teams:
psychologists, linguists, IT specialists and management specialists.
